Capital City Sound Chorus Invites Women to Join Holiday Chorus
BOISE, Idaho – Women who love to sing are invited to experience the joy of four-part a cappella harmony by joining the Capital City Sound Chorus Holiday Chorus this fall.
Capital City Sound hosts 2 big events each year - Our Annual Holiday Show Fundraiser AND The Barbershop Music Apprecitation Concert, a combined show with all the barbershoppers in the valley. We are a competitive chorus and compete each spring in the SingUnited International North by Northwest Region 13 Competition.

2024 Region 13 Novice Director, Malauna Gibby.
Meet our director, Malauna Gibby! Malauna (ma-LAW-na) has been a member of Sweet Adelines, singing tenor, since 2009. That first year, she went to the International Chorus Competition with Mountain Jubilee Chorus in Nashville and came home with a 10th place chorus medal. She joined Syringa Sound Chorus in 2010 which merged to form Capital City Sound Chorus in 2013. She has served as tenor section leader (2011-2024), Finance Coordinator (2021-2022) and most recently as assistant director (2022-2024).
Malauna completed the Sweet Adelines International Director Certification Program in May of 2025 and was presented with her Certified Director Certificate and pin at the Region 13 Competition and Convention. After directing the chorus to a score of 502 in that contest, she is now a Harmony 500 director! We are thrilled to have her directing Capital City Sound!
We rehearse Thursdays, from 7:00-9:30 pm. Guests are welcome at all rehearsals. Come and visit us! Just drop by or send an email to our Membership Coordinator, Val Bridges, ([email protected]) and let her know you'd like to attend a rehearsal. Feel free to ask her any other questions you may have, too.
