Become a member

We always want new members, and we will support your sincere efforts to join! We use the term Audition for an evaluation process that gives our music team a better understanding of you as a vocalist and a potential chorus member.

  • Visit: Every potential member is required to visit a chorus rehearsal at least three times. During this time, you can get your particular questions answered, learn some music, and determine if you feel comfortable with the dynamics of our chorus. We perform all of our songs a cappella, not holding onto sheet music and our members don't necessarily stand next to someone singing their same part during rehearsals or performances. During this time, the director or section leader will help you select a song from our repertoire to use for your audition. This song will need to be memorized.

  • Audition: After memorizing your audition song, please reach out to your Section Leader to schedule an audition with our Music Team (the section leaders and director). For the audition, you will first record the audition song from your spot on the risers and send it to your section leader and the director. Your recording will be reviewed and you will be given feedback within the week. When you have passed the riser recording part of the audition, the next week before or after rehearsal you will go into a private area with the audition quartet and director. You will sing through your song with the quartet; the section leader of your part will assist, if needed. This will also be audio recorded and reviewed and you will be given feedback within the week. After successfully completing the full audition, the music team will make their recommendation and contact you with the result.

  • After passing the audition, the whole chorus gets to vote on whether the prospective member can become a member; after which membership dues begin.
