Capital City Sound Chorus has been directed by Jerrie Beyrodt since 2002. In early June 2024, she announced her intent to the chorus to retire at the end of the month. This was the first time that Capital City Sound chorus was asked to perform on the Boise Music Week Variety Night - and what a variety show it was! Circus acts, dancers, accordion players, jump rope skippers, singers and a forgettable magician. We prepared a 12-15 minute set and then were asked to increase that to a 15-20 minute set. We entertained the modest sized crowd by singing Swing Down Chariot, Can't Take My Eyes off of You, It's a Good Day, A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, Shallow and As Long as I'm Singing. We knocked it out of the barbershop ballpark!

And shockingly, “It’s the Music that Brings us Together” actually came together, singing it a whole step up than our normal and we had a lovely full sound with everyone. Thanks for directing the mega chorus, Jerrie!

It was Veteran’s Day, and inside the residents had gathered for lunch and much-anticipated entertainment through the meal. The residents were particularly interested in this entertainment because a member of their own Staff would be in the chorus. As the chorus filed in, all eyes were searching. There she was! Their very own Hope! With high energy, the chorus began singing four-part a cappella, beginning with “Best Day of My Life.” As the show progressed, the lively audience...
